I love my flag and I love my country. I am proud to be a British citizen. I am proud that my national dish is fish and chips even though if it is a factor in our high levels of child obesity. If open borders means I can no longer call myself British, then I don't want anything to do with it.
Getting rid of borders means would mean a loss of culture. We should be trying to protect our culture and heritage as much as possible. Many people are patriotic, so it would cause them to lose a large part of their identity.
Open borders would actually create an increase in culture, since the merging of cultures often creates more diversity. It expands cultures by introducing new ideas and customs.
