Confederate monuments shouldn’t be taken down. The Civil War affected all of America. Over 620,000 soldiers died in the Civil War.[1] People need both Union and Confederate monuments to show people how both sides sacrificed.
Counter arguments
Confederate monuments promote slavery and separation from the nation. They have no reason to be out in the open and should be put in a museum hidden from public view. People will think the confederacy is acceptable with them being out in public. After all, children imitate their parents.[2]
