Privacy Policy

Parlia is the encyclopedia of opinion. This policy explains what information we hold, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

What we collect

• Account and profile information — username, name, bio, location, website link, and avatar, as provided when an account was created.
• Contributions — the opinions, comments, and votes shared on Parlia. Votes are shown publicly only in aggregate; your individual vote is never displayed to other users.
• Optional demographic details — such as gender, birth year, and political outlook, where users chose to provide them. These power the aggregate Opinion Lab breakdowns and are used, in anonymized and aggregated form only, for academic research into public opinion.

Analytics

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless, keeps no personal identifiers, and tells us only which pages are read and roughly where from.

What we don’t do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not run advertising or third-party ad trackers.
• We do not show your individual demographic details or votes to anyone — they appear only in aggregated statistics.

How your information is stored

Parlia runs on Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database, hosted on AWS), and Google Cloud Storage (profile images). Data is encrypted in transit, and database access is restricted to the application.

Research

Part of Parlia’s mission is understanding how opinion varies across the world. We may share aggregated, anonymized voting and demographic statistics with academic researchers. Individual records that could identify you are not shared.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and contributions by emailing hello@parlia.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
