In other words there are many debates within localities. “Should there be a new traffic light installed outside the elementary school” people might say yes for safety reasons, people might say no because of the tax expense. Wouldn’t this be a good use of Parlia?
Parlia tends to stick to global issues. Perhaps local controversies would be a useful service
Discussing local issues will increase participation
People are much more likely to be interested in and become involved in debates that have a personal impact. By encouraging local discussions, more people will turn to Parlia to discuss their opinions and, in the process, familiarize themselves with the larger democratic process of debate.
