Eliot Lance Engel (/ˈɛŋɡəl/; born February 18, 1947) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 16th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, he first entered Congress in 1989. Engel represented New York's 19th congressional district for two terms and New York's 17th congressional district for ten terms. His district currently contains parts of the Bronx and Westchester County.
